A French Foreign Ministry Official Reads a Sensitive Email Not Initially Addressed to Him
An official email reporting a serious threat was sent on April 19, 2025, to several high-ranking French and Chinese authorities, including senators, diplomats, intelligence services, and journalists. Although Samuel Belbachir, an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was neither a direct recipient nor copied on the message, a read receipt confirms he accessed the message on April 21 at 10:30 a.m. It is possible that the email was internally forwarded to him as part of the administrative or diplomatic handling of the case.
