How artificial intelligence is used on this website

I want to be open about this, because you are entitled to know how the pages you are reading were produced.

I use AI assistance to help me build and maintain this website: organising and cross-checking a large volume of documents, maintaining the database these pages are generated from, translating pages between English, French, Italian and Chinese, and drafting explanatory text around the evidence.

What AI is not used for: the evidence itself. The emails, letters, replies, summonses and official documents reproduced here are the original records, published as they stand. They are not written, rewritten, paraphrased or "improved" by AI. Where I quote a document, I quote it as it exists. Where I am recalling something from memory rather than quoting a record, I try to say so plainly.

AI can make mistakes. It can misread a date, mistranslate a phrase, miss the nuance of a legal term, or state something with more confidence than the underlying record actually supports. That risk is real, and I would rather name it than hide it behind a polished surface. I try to be as careful and as accurate as I possibly can: I check what is published against the original documents, I prefer saying "I do not know" or "I do not recall" to filling a gap with something that merely sounds plausible, and I correct mistakes when I find them or when someone points them out to me.

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, please tell me. I would much rather be corrected than remain wrong in public.
